Candidate Information and Open Forums
We are pleased to announce the final candidates for the Associate Provost. The campus community is invited to attend the forums and provide feedback. Candidate information will be released approximately 24 hours prior to each candidate visit. Open forums will be held at 2:00 p.m. on April 1, 2, 3 in Prairie Room II and April 7 in DeGarmo Hall 206.

Dr. Dan Walther
Open Forum: April 1 at 2:00 p.m., Prairie Room II
Dr. Dan Walther is currently serving as Assistant Dean for Accreditation at Wartburg College, and is Chair of the History Department. He also served as Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs from 2017-2020. He earned his Bachelor of Art from Northwestern University, Master of Art in European History from Indiana University and doctorate in European, Modern German, and African History from University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Alan Rieck
Open Forum: April 2 at 2:00 p.m., Prairie Room II
Dr. Alan Rieck has been at Pennsylvania State University since 2016, where he currently serves as Associate Vice-Provost/Associate Dean-Undergraduate Education and Faculty Affairs. He was at University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, from 2001 – 2016, where he served as Chair of the Department of Music and Theater Arts for three years. Dr. Rieck earned his bachelor and master’s in Music Education and doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction all from University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Dr. Joann Olson
Open Forum: April 3 at 2:00 p.m., Prairie Room II
Dr. Joann Olson is currently serving as the Interim Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at The University of Houston-Victoria. She also served as the Associate Provost for Research and Dean of Graduate Studies from 2021-2024. Dr. Olson holds a doctorate in Adult Education from The Pennsylvania State University; she earned her bachelors in Employment Relations from Michigan State University and master’s degree in Christian Formation and Ministry from Wheaton College.

Dr. Todd McLoda
Open Forum: April 7 at 2:00 p.m., DeGarmo 206
Dr. Todd McLoda is currently serving as the interim dean in the College of Education at Illinois State University. Prior to this appointment he served as Dean of the College of Applied Science and Technology from 2017 to 2023. He joined the Dean’s Office in 2009 as Associate Dean and was named Senior Associate Dean 2015. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Health, Master of Science and Doctorate all from Ohio University.
