Director of Online Education

Finalists have been announced for the Director of Online Education position at Illinois State University. Open forums for the candidates will be March 25 and March 28. The campus community is invited to attend the forums or connect by Zoom.

The Director of Online Education will provide strategic leadership to focus on quality online courses and online program development and delivery and will leverage significant expertise in educational technology, online pedagogy, and operational implementation of online academic programs. The Director will lead a newly created unit focusing on Online Education housed in the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Technology.

    Dr. Piña is currently Associate Provost for Teaching and Learning: Associate Provost for Instruction & Online Learning, Sullivan University, Louisville, KY. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Spanish and his Master of Education degree from Brigham Young University, Provo, UT. He received a Doctor of Education degree in Administration and Leadership from La Sierra University, Riverside, CA.

  • Dr. Anna Catterson

    Dr. Catterson is currently Dean of Online Learning & Instructional Technologies at Heartland Community College, Normal, IL. She received a Bachelor of Science degree and her Master of Science degree from Emporia State University, Emporia, KS. She received a Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education from Capella University, Minneapolis, MN.
