Candidate Information and Open Forums

Candidate information will be released approximately 24 hours before the candidate visit. Open forums for the candidates will be April 8, 10, and 14 at 11:00 a.m. The campus community is invited to attend the forums.

Dr. Devon Jensen is a higher education leader with over two decades of experience focused on graduate education, academic innovation, and student success. Jensen currently works at the University of Central Florida and has held several senior leadership roles overseeing all elements of the graduate environment from prospects to alumni. Jensen is passionate about expanding access to graduate education, supporting faculty mentorship, and building globally connected learning environments and enjoys working collaboratively across campus to create forward-thinking programs that meet both student and workforce needs.

Dr. Claudia Petrescu

Open Forum: Thursday, April 10 at 11:00 a.m., Prairie II

Claudia A. Petrescu, Ph.D. is a higher education leader with a record of transformational leadership. She has served at high research and very high research universities. Currently she serves as the Vice Provost for Graduate education and Dean of the Graduate School at Kansas State University. Petrescu’s work has been focus on strategically advancing graduate education and supporting internationalization efforts. Building on her interdisciplinary background, she developed expertise in enrollment management, international partnership building, student success practices, curriculum building, academic program review, community engagement, fundraising, grant writing, research and strategic planning.

Dr. Alonzo Flowers

Open Forum: Monday, April 14 at 11:00 a.m., Prairie II

Dr. Alonzo M. Flowers III is Professor and Chair of the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at The University of Texas at San Antonio. His research examines academic identity formation for men of color in STEM, faculty development, and critical qualitative inquiry. He has authored 26 academic publications, three books, and 16 book chapters, including Black Scholarship in a White Academy: Perseverance in the Face of Injustice (Hopkins Press). A recipient of Drexel University’s Teaching Excellence Award, Dr. Flowers is dedicated to advancing student success in graduate education and fostering inclusive academic environments.
