Faculty Diversity Enhancement Program
The Faculty Diversity Enhancement Program (FDEP) is designed to attract candidates who advance our commitment to fostering an inclusive environment characterized by:
- cultural understanding and engagement
- ethical behavior
- a commitment to social justice
The goal of FDEP is to enrich student experiences by increasing faculty members who have a demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and access in teaching scholarship, and service.
FDEP includes two alternative avenues for funding and supporting candidates' growth and development.

Strategic Diversity Enhancement Program (SDEP)
- Up to $20k (with $16k from Office of the Provost and $4k from College/Department/School) for 3 years
- SDEP is a themed program of strategic hiring
- Pre-authorization is required before search begins
- SDEP orientation required
- Search Advocates required
- Anonymized EDIA statements required
- Professional development activities in the Center for Professional Development

Educational Diversity Enhancement Program (EDEP)
- Up to $10k (with $5k matching from Office of the Provost) for 3 years
- Pre-authorization not required prior to the search
- EDEP offers are made at the time of the job offer
- Dean approval and justification for requests required
- Search Advocates strongly encouraged
- EDIA statements strongly encouraged
- Professional development activities in the Center for Professional Development
