Dr. Kristin Carlson
As a Provost Fellow, Dr. Carlson focused on disruptive technologies, integrated communications, inclusive excellence, and professional development.

Dr. Nicholas Heller
As a Provost Fellow, Dr. Heller focused on data analytics and decision-making focused on student success.

Dr. Jennifer Howell
Dr. Howell focused on assessment of learning outcomes for general education, evaluating credit for prior learning and expanding Illinois State University’s infrastructure for interdisciplinary offerings and programs.

Dr. Julie Schumacher
Dr. Schumacher focused on micro-credentials, online learning, and professional licensure disclosure.

Dr. Lisa Tranel
Dr. Tranel focused on general education revisions, credit for prior learning, and undergraduate research.
2023-2024 Provost Fellows

Dr. Lea Cline
As a Provost Fellow, Dr. Cline focused on inclusive excellence and assisted the Provost’s office with policy analysis. Dr. Lea Cline has served in a number of service and leadership roles, both on and off campus.

Dr. Emily Jones
As a Provost Fellow, Dr. Jones focused on adult learners and online education. Dr. Jones also focused on structural and systems-level needs and opportunities for Illinois State University to expand online offerings for traditional and non-traditional learners.

Dr. Roy Magnuson
As Provost Fellow, Dr. Magnuson assisted the Division of Academic Affairs in understanding and responding to emerging disruptive technologies like AI, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and Spatial Computing.

Dr. Mike Mulvaney
As Provost Fellow, Dr. Mulvaney focused on university accreditation and assessment initiatives and projects Dr. Mulvaney was also involved with the planning and initiatives to support the assessment of learning outcomes within the general education program. Building upon ISU's 2022-23 Data Literacy Institute, Dr. Mulvaney collaborated with leadership in the planning of data literacy programming to support student success

Dr. Jason Whitesel
As Provost Fellow, Dr. Whitesel coordinated professional development opportunities for leaders in academic affairs. He collaborated with Dr. Hildebrandt to distribute information pertaining to the Office of the Provost’s Annual Professional Development Series to assist seasoned and newly appointed chairs and directors.
