Illinois State University Outstanding Teacher Awards Program exists to honor and recognize individuals who have achieved excellence as teachers at Illinois State University.
By honoring such individuals, the University demonstrates its commitment to teaching as a scholarly endeavor, emphasizes the importance of outstanding teaching, and provides incentives for faculty members to pursue activities that enhance them as teachers.
University-Level Teaching Awards
Information regarding guidelines, eligibility, and portfolios is available on the Center for Teaching, Learning & Technology web site:
- Outstanding University Teacher Award- Category I: Recognizes tenure track faculty whose teaching accomplishments are exceptionally significant and meritorious among their ISU colleagues.
- Outstanding University Teacher Award-Category II: Recognizes full or part-time teachers with non-tenure track appointments and administrative professionals and civil service employees with university credit-generating teaching responsibilities.
- Teaching Initiative Award: Recognizes faculty members who are relatively new to the teaching profession.
- Outstanding University Graduate Student Teaching Award: Recognizes outstanding contributions to teaching made by graduate students as part of their program and educational experience at Illinois State University.
