At Illinois State University, primary responsibility for the quality of academic programs resides with faculty; review of academic programs resides with the Academic Planning Committee, an external committee of the Academic Senate. The University Assessment Services (UAS) staff works exclusively in the area of student learning outcomes assessment. In addition to conducting institution-wide projects at multiple points of students’ academic and co-curricular experiences, the staff will be available as consultants and co-researchers on class, department, and unit assessment projects. We also function as a clearinghouse of assessment-related information and administer the Small Grants for Assessment program as funds are available.
